2025 Enforcement Outlook | The DOJ’s Strategic Shifts in White-Collar Crime Enforcement

Overview

The US Department of Justice (DOJ) has announced significant strategic shifts in its white-collar crime enforcement, focusing on high-impact cases that align with national security, administration priorities, and economic interests. These changes prioritize areas such as fraud, trade and customs violations, and crimes involving digital assets. The new approach includes expanded whistleblower and self-disclosure incentives, as well as a more targeted use of corporate monitorships.

In this webinar, members of McDermott’s Global White-Collar and Government Investigations Practice Group provided an overview of the DOJ’s updates and offered best practices for businesses to stay ahead of these changes.

Discussion topics included:

  • Key elements of the DOJ’s new white-collar enforcement plan and practical guidance
  • Strategies for enhancing corporate compliance programs
  • Foreign Corrupt Practices Act policy announcements and the anti-corruption landscape
