This session will examine the DOL’s proposed regulation from an experienced valuation practitioner’s perspective and explore whether the regulation’s treatment of valuation issues is consistent with established valuation standards, technical guidance, and generally accepted practice. Where the regulation is inconsistent, the session will present the opposing view with support from authoritative sources and citations.
- Analyze the proposed regulation from an experienced valuer’s perspective.
- Recognize where the proposed regulation impacts the valuation of company stock.
- Differentiate where the DOL’s prescribed treatment of valuation issues differs from recognized valuation standards, authoritative financial theory, and generally accepted valuation practice.
