Kate McDonald will present at the American Health Lawyers Association Institute for Health Plan Counsel on “The Outer Bounds of Health Care: Legal Issues and Lessons Learned for Payers Addressing Social Determinants of Health.” Kate and her co-presenter, Barbara Otto of Smart Policy Works, will address the legal framework applicable to health insurers that expand benefits beyond the four corners of traditional health care, challenges associated with providing these types of services within the insurance model, and recent regulatory changes that impact how insurers approach social determinants of health.
