McDermott Will & Emery advised the shareholders of Team! Licensing GmbH, Katarina Dietrich und Gerold Kolenbrander, on the complete sale of their shares in the company to Copyright Promotions Licensing Group (CPLG).
Team! Licensing GmbH, based in Munich, is a leading licensing agency in the entertainment sector, which markets the rights to fictional characters such as the Peanuts for merchandising in Germany and abroad.
Copyright Promotions Licensing Group, headquartered in London and with branches all over Europe, markets licensing rights in the areas of film, TV, brands and sports on behalf of rights holders such as Sesame Workshop, Paramount, MGM or CBS. The company was founded in 1974 and today is a subsidiary of stock-listed Canadian DHX Media Ltd.
The McDermott team was led by partner Ralf Weisser and Nadine Hartung advised Team! Licensing on all legal aspects related to the transaction, and had previously advised the shareholders in connection with the founding of Team! Licensing in 2010.
Other members of the McDermott team included Gudrun Germakowski, Steffen Woitz, Nina Siewert, Claus Färber, Marcus Fischer, Matthias Weingut and Robert Feind.
