Munich, November 1, 2023 – McDermott Will & Emery is strengthening its finance practice with new partner Dr. Matthias Weissinger. He joins from Ashurst on November 1, 2023 and will be based in Munich.
Matthias Weissinger advises sponsors, debt funds, national and international financial institutions and medium-sized companies on acquisition financings, unitranche financings and corporate loans. Further focal points of his practice are complex restructurings of financial liabilities of all kinds and assistance in out-of-court restructurings and insolvency proceedings.
Matthias Weissinger is one of the leading lawyers for financing in the German market and has been recommended in all relevant rankings and industry directories for several years (Chambers Germany / Europe, Juve, Legal500, IFLR). McDermott recently strengthened its German private equity practice with the additions of Holger Ebersberger from Noerr and Hanno Witt from Latham & Watkins. At the same time, Ludwig Zesch joined McDermott, also from Latham & Watkins, and together with Matthias Weissinger will work closely with the German PE and transactions team in the area of acquisition finance. In Frankfurt, Felix Ganzer had already joined the firm during the course of the year and has since successfully expanded the Capital Markets practice.
In the transaction area, McDermott now has 35 partners and 51 additional lawyers at the Frankfurt, Munich and Düsseldorf/Cologne offices.
