McDermott Strengthens its German Corporate Practice with Addition of Experienced Partners in Frankfurt

International law firm McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce the addition of two seasoned partners in its Frankfurt office. Rolf Hünermann and Philip Schmidt have joined Germany’s Transactions Practice Group to further develop McDermott’s corporate offering in this busy market.

With their specialization in investigations and compliance, Rolf Hünermann and Philip Schmidt are an excellent fit for this strategy.”

Rolf Hünermann has been advising on national and cross-border M&A transactions and joint ventures for more than 20 years. He has extensive experience in corporate law, corporate governance and compliance, with a particular focus on ESG. He advises executive boards on corporate issues such as official and internal investigations, on risk assessments and supply chain management.

Prior to joining McDermott, Rolf was Co-Founder of the Frankfurt Reed Smith Office and subsequently that firm’s office Managing Partner.

Philip Schmidt also specializes in cross-border M&A, corporate governance and compliance. He advises executive boards, managing directors and compliance officers inter alia on a wide range of corporate law matters and transactions as well as liability issues. His compliance practice focuses on the set-up and maintenance of compliance management systems (including ESG and supply chain aspects) as well as internal investigations.

McDermott’s Transactions practice in Germany includes Corporate/M&A as well as Capital Markets, Banking & Finance, Private Equity, Real Estate and Restructuring & Insolvency. The Group currently counts 85 lawyers throughout Germany, 24 of which are based in Frankfurt.
