Overview
Dr. Florian Schiefer advises clients on international corporate and group tax law, international tax planning, transaction tax, real estate taxation, and investment taxation.
Prior to joining McDermott Will & Schulte, Florian worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Business Taxation at the University of Bamberg and completed his doctorate in 2014. He then worked for several years as a chartered tax advisor for a reputable international law firm in Berlin and Frankfurt.
Florian is the author of numerous articles and publications on topics surrounding national and international tax law. He is a lecturer for international tax law at the University of Bamberg and a frequent speaker on tax issues.
Results
Florian advised:
- KKR and Mirastar, the European industrial and logistics platform of KKR Real Estate, on the acquisition of a logistics property in Hanover. The transaction is the first acquisition by KKR and Mirastar in this asset class in Germany and also the first German acquisition for KKR’s pan-European Core+ Real Estate strategy.
- SIGNA on the acquisition of GALERIA Kaufhof and the subsequent merger with Karstadt
- IMFARR on the acquisition of the Silver Tower in Frankfurt am Main and the HighlightTowers in Munich
- SIGNA on the successful IPO of SIGNA Sports United
- Borgers during the operative restructuring and refinancing
- Several private and institutional investors on the acquisition and the sale of various shopping centers and office properties
