Frankfurt a.M., December 20, 2021 – McDermott Will & Emery has advised imat-uve Group GmbH and its shareholders on the sale of a majority stake in the group to Centre Testing International Co., Ltd. (CTI).
The transaction, which also involves imat-uve’s subsidiaries in China, USA, South Africa, and Mexico, was preceded by a prior restructuring of the Chinese holdings. Managing Director Hans-Willi Müller will continue to hold an interest in imat-uve after the transaction has been completed and will be represented on the group’s management board.
Imat-uve is a design and development service provider for the automotive industry headquartered in Mönchengladbach, Germany, with subsidiaries in Stuttgart, the USA, Mexico, China, and South Africa.
CTI, headquartered in Shenzen, is considered a pioneer and market leader in the TIC (Testing, Inspection, Certification) industry, providing testing and inspection services for industrial and consumer goods companies as well as life science and trade-related testing services.
The team advising imat-uve Group was led by Norman Wasse, comprised Partners Gudrun Germankowski, Christian Rolf, Oliver Hahnelt, Counsel Nikolas Koutsós, Christian Krohs, Deniz Tschammler and Heiko Kermer, as well as Associates Marion von Grönheim, Ding Han, Lukas Deutzmann and Ilva Woeste.
