Overview
Dr. Matthias Kampshoff advises companies, board members, shareholders, investors as well as bankruptcy administrators, and creditors on all corporate and bankruptcy-law-related issues. He focuses on restructuring companies that are experiencing crises and bankruptcy situations and, in particular, on guiding companies in their debtor-in-possession proceedings (Eigenverwaltung).
In addition, Matthias regularly advises in national and international (distressed) merger and acquisition transactions. Recently, he advised in various projects, inter alia, with respect to the following industry sectors: retail, automotive, media, and information technology (IT).

- Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof in the protective shielding procedure
- The international Borgers Group during the operative restructuring and refinancing
- SIGNA on the complete acquisition of Karstadt Warenhaus and Galeria Kaufhof (now jointly Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof) from Hudons Bay
- Bertelsmann group / Arvato on the acquisition of a significant Netrada business division out of insolvency
- SIGNA on the acquisition of Karstadt Warenhaus, the second-largest department store operator in Germany with more than 17,000 employees and revenues exceeding EUR 2 billion, as well as Karstadt Sports and Karstadt Premium
