FRANKFURT, (May 23, 2017) – International law firm McDermott Will & Emery advised United Drug Group, a company listed on the Irish Stock Market, and its German subsidiary Ashfield Healthcare, on the acquisition of sellxpert Group.
Sellxpert is a service provider in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry with presence in Germany and Switzerland. Sellxpert Group’s clients include global pharmaceutical companies and a variety of medium-sized healthcare enterprises. The completion of the transaction is subject to the approval of the German Federal Cartel Office.
In 2012, a team headed by Corporate partner Dr Michael Cziesla, at the time still working for his previous firm, acted for the then-seller Celesio in the disposal of the Ashfield Healthcare Group (then still operating under the name pharmexx) to United Drug. Following this, Cziesla and his team have continued to advise Ashfield Healthcare in Germany and abroad. McDermott Will & Emery is one of the leading law firms in Germany and globally for consultancy services for transactions in the healthcare sector. It is thanks to this competence and the recommendation of Ashfield Healthcare that McDermott has now also come to advise United Drug on the acquisition of the sellxpert Group.
