McDermott Will & Emery hat die österreichische SIGNA Group bei dem Erwerb von 106 Thomas Cook Reisebüros mit mehr als 500 Mitarbeitern für die eigenen Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof Reiseangebote beraten. Signa übernimmt außerdem die Thomas Cook E-Commerce-Plattform „Golden Gate“.
Die Transaktion ist das Ergebnis erfolgreicher Verhandlungen mit den vorläufigen Insolvenzverwaltern der Thomas Cook GmbH, Thomas Cook Touristik GmbH, Thomas Cook Vertriebs GmbH und Neckermann Urlaubswelt GmbH. Der Vollzug der Transaktion steht noch unter dem Vorbehalt der Zustimmung der Gläubigerausschüsse sowie der Freigabe der Kartellbehörden.
Mit dem Erwerb verdoppelt Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof die Anzahl den Verkaufsstellen in Deutschland.
